FLUX ZINC
De-oxidising element for treating galvanising tanks against the floating mattes or spelter and to reduce the zinc content in the ash.
Immediately after each immersion of steel pieces in the zinc bath, ash forms on the surface of the molten zinc, and has to be removed before the next galvanizing operation. These ashes consist of oxides of zinc and zinc chloride together with metallic zinc. The latter, in the form of droplets in various sizes, cause a considerable loss to the galvanizer.
FLUX ZINC contains salts and elements that enhance the melting of the zinc metal in the ashes, and separate it from the other metals, thus allowing it to return into the zinc bath.
FLUX ZINC: THE ADVANTAGES
- Used on the surface, it allows for the recovery of over 90% of the zinc metal contained in the ashes;
- It speeds up all operations compared to traditional methods;
- It saves manpower during operations;
- It allows the recovered zinc to be used immediately;
- Used in immersion, it purifies the zinc in the bath.
